Question Number 1:
Does the trust have a bed cleaning facility in place? Please specify details where possible.
 
Answer To Question 1:
No the Trust does not have a bed cleaning facility in place. We have procedures in place for cleaning beds at ward level by both the clinical staff and housekeeping as required.
 
Question Number 2:
Please specify how beds are cleaned (please specify any differences between infected and non-infected beds)

o at what frequency (i.e. daily, weekly)

o and who cleans the beds (please specify if an external company or by trust nurses, healthcare assistants, etc)
 
Answer To Question 2:
Beds are cleaned by our housekeeping and ward teams using a chlorine based detergent on discharge/bed transfer or following any infections.

We also use a HPV machine when deep cleaning areas/bays/bed spaces, where beds are also treated as part of the deep clean plan as a additional measure to reduce infection control risks.
 
Question Number 3:
Please provide the trust’s C-diff status - i.e. under trajectory, on trajectory, over trajectory
 
Answer To Question 3:
As of 31st October 2023, SFT is under trajectory for all reportable healthcare associated C.difficile cases
 
Question Number 4:
Please also provide copies of any recent IPC audits (from January 2023 to date) carried out by ¾¨Ó㴫ý England
 
Answer To Question 4:
From January 2023 to date, there have been no IPC audits undertaken by ¾¨Ó㴫ý England that the SFT Infection Prevention and Control Team have been made aware of
